The Unaccompanied Baggage, which arrives by air, is also cleared at Air Cargo Commissionerate, Sahar. This consists of unaccompanied baggage of persons returning on Transfer of Residence or those returning after short visits. The effort is primarily to ensure that consumer goods are not imported in under large commercial quantities in the guise of bonafide unaccompanied baggage. The emphasis is on expeditious clearance and this is not considered a major source of revenue.
