Air India is India's finest flying Ambassador. The urge to excel and enthusiasm to achieve, which characterized Air India's first flight, nearly 80 years ago is palpable even today – courtesy its dedicated professionals who have kept alive the tradition of flying high! Air India, since its first flight on October 15, 1932, has grown to become a mega international airline with more than 500 daily flights covering 33 destinations across the US, Europe, Canada, Far-East and South-East Asia, and the Gulf. The airline's domestic network covers 64 destinations, including far-flung areas of the North-East, Ladakh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Air India's present youngest fleet comprises a mix of state-of-the-art technology Dreamliners B787s, wide-body B777s, B747s, A330s and the narrow body Airbus A321s, A320s, A319s and the B737s. Air India was the first Indian carrier to start non-stop flights to the USA when its brand new Boeing 777-200 LRs - technologically world's most advanced aircraft - was introduced to offer unprecedented comfort levels to passengers.

The passengers' faith in the airline was reaffirmed when Air India was voted the most trusted brand in the country's Aviation sector in the Economic Times Brand Equity survey. In yet another honour, Air India was presented the Reader's Digest Trusted Brand Gold Award for the seventh consecutive year.

From standing by the nation during any crisis, reflecting the tradition and culture of the country, or show casing the strength of emerging India – Air India has always been identified with India. Sports & sports persons have enjoyed a pride of place in the organization. India's hockey and cricket teams have been studded with jewels from the national carrier, who have won many a laurels for the country.
